I am currently finishing up nine miles through icy tundra and notice that my underarm is chaffed where it meets my vest. WTH? I trained for the whole marathon without nary a chafe (even wore spandex shorts to protect against the nasty thigh meeting chafe) yet only 9miles and I have an owie.
And I hit the pavement once. Winter running is NOT cool.

Oh no- arm chafe is not good! I can't believe you are running 9 miles through the frozen tundra! Good job, #1125!!! What a great way to start the year!
Congrats on your 9.
Funny, I was thinking how much I loved winter running on my 8 miler today. So crisp and beautiful and so much better than heat.
Sorry about the arm chafe - certain shirts do that to me. I forgot Body Glide in important areas and am now dreading my jump in the shower.
Happy new year running!
Mainly I was mad that I slipped and fell. I do love the cool weather for running. Butt ice is too much!
