Makeup

I have never successfully worn daily makeup but, as I alluded to in my post about my new work appearance, I am putting bb cream on everyday now. I really like how it evens out my skin enough that I notice.

The problem is, even with this absurdly small amount of makeup, I am a disaster. I touch my face WAY too much.

Here is my lab coat sleeve. Ew, right?

(I mainly used this one cause I still find it amusing that I use expensive scientific slurpee straws to weigh stuff out.)

So, how do I keep my hands off my face or is it normal to have residue?

In my own defense mainly it is using my face to pull up my sleeves. Hmm, possibly not a great defense.

I am also wearing makeup again for the first time in decades (cue gasps of surprise from all my friends), and bb cream is the only thing I'm brave enough to use right now! I haven't noticed a problem with it rubbing off, so either I don't use enough (which is totally possible) or maybe your brand is just particularly messy. I've been using cover girl.

Ummmmm.....stop pushing your jacket up with your face. :-)

I notice some residue when I wear foundation or BB cream but it is usually a little on a collar or on a Kleenex.

Can I convince you guys that the absolute, best, number 1 makeup thing to wear everyday is mascara? Nothing makes you look instantly more awake and defined than mascara. Also, it is the quickest thing you can do. Don't believe me? Try doing one eye and then taking a long look in the mirror and see the difference. I am not brand evangelical about many thing but the only mascara to buy is Clinique lash power long lasting formula. It absolutely does not smudge or flake and you can cry and even get your face wet and it stays on. You just use a little warm water and your fingers to remove it. Hands down the greatest mascara ever and definitely worth a few extra bucks. Seriously. Don't like it? I will buy your tube from you unless you have some weird creepy eye disease.

I thought I was putting a scant amount on but it is VERY possible that I’m using too much.

You certainly can convince me about mascara (thanks for the recommend, I’ll check it out. And maybe toss all of the other mascaras I’ve collected during my futile make up attempts) and I was mainly shaming myself because I do need to stop touching my face so much, especially at work. It is gross.

I think you just need to get a better fitting labcoat. Or role up those sleeves before putting on the gloves. I think I might need to look into this bb cream...
